Bruno Punzalan was memorable as Mang Canuto, the cruel stepdad of the young Ace Vergel (billed then as Ace York) in "Anak ng Bulkan" (1957). Mang Canuto will stop at nothing to have the monster bird killed. He was also seen in the Gina Alajar-starrer "Salome" (1981) as the town's hermit and madman. His role in the movie was crucial and important because his version of the crime (as committed by Salome against the city engineer, Dennis Roldan) was the keymoment of the film.
